A dental bridge replaces missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth to nearby teeth or implants on each side of the gap. This treatment makes your bite stronger, improves your appearance, allows you to chew, and prevents neighboring teeth from shifting out of place.
Traditional dental bridges use crowns on both sides of the missing tooth. Cantilever bridges attach to one adjacent tooth. Maryland bridges use metal or porcelain frameworks instead of crowns, while implant-supported bridges have the strongest foundation because replacement teeth are attached directly to dental implants.

People choose dental bridges because they improve their appearance when they lose a tooth, and they’re comfortable. Their benefits support stability in the mouth and promote long-term oral health.
Dental bridge cost varies and depends on the type of restoration, the amount of missing teeth, and if additional procedures are necessary, like implants or gum treatments. Traditional and cantilever bridges are more affordable, while bridges supported by implants are more expensive.
If you do not see your insurance provider listed, please contact us.
Unfortunately we do not accept Medicaid, Healthplex, HMO, DMO and some other dental insurances.
Insurance sometimes covers part of the cost of your dental bridge, but your location and the general dentistry or family dentistry practice you visit, and how it’s classified, may affect whether it’s covered. Review your benefits or speak to your provider to find out what your plan includes.
Most dental bridges last for a decade or more before they may need to be replaced, depending on how well they are cared for and your overall dental health. If you avoid grinding or chewing hard objects, as well as brush and floss regularly, and have routine dental visits, it can extend the bridge’s life.
The difference between a dental bridge and an implant is that a bridge attaches to neighboring teeth, while an implant replaces the entire tooth, standing independently, and integrates a titanium post in your jawbone, functioning as an artificial root.
